PSA Awards - ACRC External Affairs Awards to Publishing Companies participating in the ACRC Public Service Announcement Campaign


In 2001, the ACRC put out a request to all publishing companies to help our mission by promoting the Recycle Option to growers, retailers and applicators.  Publishers were asked to run Public Service Announcements free-of-charge, or at a reduced rate. Each ACRC PSA was customized to the publishing companies needs. This request is renewed annually.

 

The many publishers who obliged the ACRC request were recognized.  ACRC External Affairs Director, Don Bradley (Murray Equipment) presented the first “New Beginnings” External Affairs Awards at the 2005 Ag Media Summit held in Minneapolis.

 

Gold Level Awards for publishing companies donating PSAs at a dollar amount that exceeded $50,000 were awarded to three companies.

 

. Primedia donated $96,000 in PSAs since 2001.  All Crop books were included – the four Farm Presses, Corn & Soybean Digest and Apply Magazines. Hembree Brandon, Editorial Director accepted the award.

 

. Meredith donated $92,000 in PSAs since 2001, in both regional and national editions of Successful Farming. Tom Davis, Publisher of Successful Farming accepted for Meredith. 
           
. Meister Media Worldwide donated $67,000 in PSAs since 2001. Meister placed PSAs in all of its books including their Nursery and Ornamentals publications.  Jon Miducki, National Accounts Manager accepted for Meister.

 

The ACRC also recognized the regional publishing companies that did a significant job in spreading the word through PSAs.  Those companies were honored at the Silver Level of donations greater than $15,000.
 
Food 360· (Vance) has donated over $24,000 in space since 2001. Bill Newham, Vice President accepted the award for Food 360· (Vance).


AgProfessional/Doane has donated $16,000 since 2001.  Lynn Henderson, Editor AgProfessional accepted for Doane.

 

Not present but also recognized was Harris Publishing for $23,500 of donated space since 2001.  ACRC thanked Publisher Jason Harris.

 

The next ACRC awards will be presented at the AMS in 2007.
